First, I wish you all a very 'Happy Gandhi Jayanti'. Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated on 2nd October every year to mark the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who was famously known as Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi was a great leader of India. He fought for our independence by following the principles of peace and non-violence. He started many important movements like Civil Rights movement Dandi March, Quit India movement etc. Friends, Mahatma Gandhi believed in Simple living and high thinking. He is also known as Bapu and Father of the Nation.
This great leader of our country breathed his last on 30th January 1948. Friends, In India, Mahatma Gandhi's birthday 2nd October is a national holiday. Globally, Gandhi's birthday is celebrated as the International Day of Non-violence.
On this day, many schools, colleges conduct speech, essay, drama and other competitions for students Friends, Today whole world is the follower of the teachings of the Mahatma Gandhi, which gave value not only India but also to the world.
