Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a great scholar, philosopher, teacher, orator and President of India. He was born on 5 September 1888 at Tiruttani, Tamil Nadu. His father's name was Sarvepalli Veeraswami and mother's name was Sarvepalli Sitamma. Dr. Radhakrishnan completed his education by winning scholarships, despite facing a lack of finance. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan believed that teachers are the best personalities those help in building and developing the nation. Dr. Radhakrishnan was awarded many high honors in his lifetime. In 1954, he was awarded the country's highest Civilian award ‘Bharat Ratna’. His birthday is celebrated as Teacher's Day in India in his honour. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan breathed his last on 17th April 1975. Dr. Radhakrishnan's life is an inspiration for all of us.
